Responsibilities Under the direction of the Facilities Shift Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining correct temperatures, pressures and levels of all central power plant machinery and equipment including boilers, large refrigeration machinery, pumps, piping, cooling towers, water treatment program and electrical equipment in all Energy Plants and associated Machine Rooms. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures. Accurately checks and records gauges on equipment and machinery on an hourly basis. Detail oriented. Safety conscious. Self-motivated and results-oriented. Maintains logs of equipment settings, problems and trends; analyzes data to determine causes. Reports as needed of recurrent problems. Makes sound judgments that affect Campus Wide Operations. Maintains knowledge relative to the impact of weather and physical environment on the operating system. Proficient with computer systems-monitoring equipment. Performs proper blowdown, changes and rotates equipment as designed and directed. Maintains proper chemical inventories and handles chemicals safely. Maintains Material Data Sheet Log, keeps it up to date. Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times. Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility. Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned. Test run and maintain Emergency Generators and Life Safety Equipment weekly. Maintains, monitors and manages Diesel Fuel Storage Inventory. Qualifications High school diploma, licensing or accreditation from a governing body such as the National Association of Plant Engineers or National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers or shipboard qualified, as well as a minimum of five (5) years of utility plant operation with an emphasis on boiler and refrigeration equipment experience. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Energy Plant Operations require the use of appropriate hearing protection as well as the use of Personal Protective Equipment including Respiratory Protection while handling boiler and chiller chemicals. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to the general public. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
