Ambrose Treacy College is proudly a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition, with a full cohort of 1,300 students across Years 4-12. The College is seeking to hire a Grounds and Maintenance (Services Officer) to join our team. This role works within the Facilities and Services team to service and promote the upkeep of College buildings, grounds, and the sporting fields including general maintenance. The role involves a high degree of physical work coupled with a range of ‘handyman/trade’, maintenance, and horticultural skills. An understanding of safe work practices, the ability to problem-solve and work co-operatively, and a current driver’s licence are essential. Trade qualifications and a heavy vehicle licence are desirable (HR, LR) but not essential. Further information can be found at . About the role Duties include but are not limited to the following: Maintain the College grounds and sporting ovals to a high standard of appearance. Carry out daily operations concerning the maintenance and cleanliness of the College. Ensure that work is done in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety obligations and is carried out in a manner as to not interfere with the College's activities. Other related duties as directed by the Facilities and Services Manager. Skills and experience The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience: General gardening and/or maintenance experience. Knowledge and skill in operating small machinery e.g. powered hand tools, lawn mower, etc. Good knowledge of safe work practices and WHS requirements. Valid and current Driver's Licence. Certificate II, III or IV Certification in trade, general maintenance and/or horticulture would be desirable.
