The Role Special Access Program Branch, the Defence central office for Special Access Program (SAP) provides opportunity for a challenging career in a fast-paced environment. Role includes: Lead and manage the provision of protective security advice to stakeholders to support the implementation of security policies, practices and procedures fostering a risk aware positive security culture. Guide organisations through Zone 5 certification and accreditation for fixed and deployable SAP facilities. Provide recommendation to Authorising official on SAPF accreditation. Fulfil duties as the SAPB assistant Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO). Provide administrative support to SAPB business functions. You will have exposure to a diverse range of activities, through all stages of the SAP lifecycle. About our Team SAP Branch within Force Integration Division is responsible for managing Defence's SAP framework. As part of the Security Compliance Directorate, you will work in a joint supportive environment that is outcomes focused and provides technically complex and challenging opportunities. The environment is professional with dedicated teammates who are accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements. The team is responsible for SAP facility accreditation, compliance inspections and SAP Information system authorisation. You will share your expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced colleagues. Our Ideal Candidate Have security knowledge and experience in the fields of physical and personnel security. Experience in zone 5 and working with compartments is desirable. They will be able to work closely with security professionals in other government agencies, Defence and Industry. You will be able to provide sound and relevant security advice that is compliant with policy and risk aware. Through the compliance function, you will support external engagement with Defence and industry to build national capability. Be adept at working collaboratively within a team to influence protective security outcomes. Skilled at tailoring communication style and language according to the audience's level of knowledge, skill and experience to drive suitable outcomes. Strong written communications is also desirable for writing reports and presentations. The successful candidate must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a Top secret Positive Vetting security Clearance. Security Clearance Prior to commencement, successful applicants will be required to undergo a psychological assessment and an extensive security clearance process. As a Positive Vetting clearance is required, applicants must be Australian Citizens; be able to account for their personal background for their whole life; and be able to demonstrate suitability to work in a high security intelligence environment.
