The Taxation team within Financial Operations is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated finance officer to join the taxation team. This includes making reasonable adjustments to support applicants at all stages of the process and employee lifecycle.Your Role As The Finance Officer, You Will Assist in providing taxation advice to state schools and corporate business areas. Utilise your tax expertise to prepare annual FBT return and assist with periodic GST taxation compliance reviews. Additionally, you will undertake research to adequately respond to new public sector financial management and budgetary initiatives. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate your knowledge of accounting concepts and strategies, and taxation legislative requirements.Your application should illustrate your experience in preparing taxation returns (primarily annual FBT return) and GST compliance reviews.Expertise in the use and development of medium/advanced Microsoft Excel skills, transactional data analysis and reconciliations to identify taxation non-compliance to tax code and procedural requirement is essential.In addition, it is also important that candidates display well-developed oral and written communication skills so that you can effectively liaise with a range of stakeholders and manage competing priorities and heavy workloads.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
