About the role Applications are now open for a Finance Operations Analyst to join the team. This position is being offered as a fixed term contract for 12 months initially. The Finance Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the operations of Finance Transactions and Services and ensuring all activities comply with legislation, policy and procedures. The role is required to support the development, maintenance and ongoing improvement and to drive transactional efficiency across the function and support operational reporting obligations. Some key accountabilities of the role will include: Provide advice to support the development of strategies, policies, systems and procedures to ensure transactions across the function are processed and accounted for in an accurate, timely, efficient and strongly governed manner. Responsible for the processing of Customer Payments and Refunds as well as related functions within business systems, to allow timely and accurate completion of these activities ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Provide business administrative and operational support to meet Essential Energy’s obligation under relevant regulations, procedures and processes, including the preparation and delivery of key operational reporting and contributing to reporting development. Administer transactional and controls management including processing and maintaining key daily and monthly reconciliations for all relevant accounts and determine anomalies and adjust in a governed manner as per Essential Energy’s policy and procedures as required. About you As the successful candidate you will have strong communication, customer service and stakeholder management skills as this role will see you interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and handle all types of enquiries. You will be able to review and improve business processes, systems, reporting and controls, including change management requirements and stakeholder impacts. This role is diverse, and you will be someone who thrives managing multiple assignments and tasks, setting priorities, and adapting to changing conditions and work assignments. For this you will need a strong understanding of business systems relevant to the role including ERP, Reporting tools and the Microsoft Office suite. Required Qualifications | Experience Certificate IV in Business or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications. Demonstrated experience in a similar diverse role in a large transactional volume-based service environment with an understanding of financial transactions and reporting. Analytical skills and the ability to contribute to the development and delivery of operational reporting. Demonstrated experience in reviewing and maintaining ensuring internal controls are maintained and improved. Experience in providing business and operational support in a functional and customer service focused environment. Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of training materials and assisting in education of key stakeholders.
