You will play a key role in shaping the organisation's financial and operational success, ensuring smooth day-to-day management while driving strategic initiatives. About us The Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) is headquartered in Adelaide and is a leading not-for-profit member-based association dedicated to supporting the Australian defence industry by facilitating collaboration, capability development and growth. We are a respected and influential voice in the defence sector, working to promote the capabilities of our members and drive innovation within the industry. About the role The Finance and Business Manager ensures effective corporate governance and operational management, with a strong emphasis on financial oversight, compliance, and strategic support. Key responsibilities include the timely and accurate delivery of financial and management accounting, human resources management, governance policies and procedures, facilities management, IT, and general administration. Additionally, this role leads grant acquittal reporting and supports the preparation of grant applications to secure new funding opportunities. What you will be doing Prepare budgets, forecasting, financial analysis and cash flow reports for presentation to senior management and the Board. Provide financial reporting and value-added analytical support to the business. Advise on strategic and business planning including the annual budget. Lead the preparation of grant and financial reports required by the business. Oversee daily bookkeeping including accounts receivable/payable and expense claim approvals for DTC employees. Lead end-of-year and other financial review processes, liaising with external accountants and auditors. Overseeing and managing payroll administration and employee contracts. Develop and implement policies, priorities, and procedures for financial management, budgeting, accounting, payroll and corporate governance. Manage office contracts, facilities, IT systems and business insurances. What we are looking for Qualified Accountant with 3+ years' experience in financial management or similar role, preferably in a not-for-profit or small business. Familiarity with financial software Xero, IT Systems and advanced MS Excel skills. In-depth knowledge of compliance legislative frameworks and policy development. Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to maintain accurate financial records. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive effective decision-making. Self-motivated with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a drive for innovation and improvement.
