Financial Accountant – Analyst Department: Finance Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Sydney Description We’re looking for an experienced Financial Accountant on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from and work alongside an experienced and high-performing Finance team. You’ll play an instrumental role in assisting the Finance team in adhering to its accounting, tax reporting, and treasury functions. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of reconciliations and reports, ensuring they are produced accurately and on time for review & lodgement. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to provide financial information that supports decision-making and helps maintain effective financial controls. Role Responsibilities Prepare, process, and reconcile balance sheet accounts for month-end reporting Prepare annual FBT, quarterly BAS and monthly IAS Prepare corporate entity tax-effect accounting entries for month-end and full-year reporting Support the preparation of the annual corporate entity tax returns for the Australian Group and corporate tax return for our NZ and Superannuation Trustee Prepare compliance and regulatory reports, including ASIC and APRA Support preparation of statutory accounts, including applicable disclosure notes as directed Assist with year-end audit, including PBC gathering as directed Provide Corporate banking treasury support, including preparing & monitoring cash flow forecasts, perform reconciliations of corporate and virtual cards to ensure adherence to controls. Assist with our Core ETF and Superannuation business analysis and forecasts Support documentation of processes and accounting policies Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, regulatory reporting obligations and applicable tax legislation Skills & Experience Relevant degree + Chartered Accountant with CA (CAANZ) Understanding of accounting & tax principles Appreciation of the regulatory framework and requirements within Australia Professional interpersonal and relationship skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organisational skills with the ability to adapt & multitask Detail-oriented, analytical with good intuitive reasoning Possess intermediate MS Excel skills Familiarity with NetSuite ERP would be an advantage Reasons To Join Us What We Offer Betashares believes our most important asset is our people and we are proud of the culture we have built – but we are always striving to be better.
