About the Role: In this pivotal role, you will be integral to shaping our financial landscape. You will ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting and play a vital part in driving our strategic initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with various departments, providing insights that influence decision-making and operational efficiency. Your analytical skills will be crucial in identifying trends and opportunities for improvement within our financial processes. Additionally, you will contribute to project planning and budgeting, collaborating with teams to align financial goals with business objectives. This role is perfect for someone looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports to drive business success. Collaborate with mine site operations and the corporate office to provide accounting support. Manage journal entries, including month-end tasks for prepayments, IFRS16 leases, royalties, and stock valuations. Oversee fixed asset capitalisations, disposals, transfers, and impairments. Assist with depreciation calculations and asset lifespan reviews. Handle coal sales accounting, including invoicing, receipting, and accruals. Maintain joint venture participant ledgers through reconciliations. Prepare joint venture reports and liaise with legal and finance teams for participant queries. Complete statutory note disclosures and supporting schedules for reporting. Calculate coal royalties and manage diesel fuel rebate claims. Support the preparation of annual financial statements and solvency statements. About You: Has a proven track record in financial accounting (mining or energy sector experience is a bonus!). Knows IFRS16 like the back of your hand. Is detail-oriented and passionate about keeping financial records in tip-top shape. Can navigate complex accounting systems with ease. Communicates like a pro and thrives in a collaborative environment. Is ready to take on multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced world.
