Financial Accountant with Payroll Expertise FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT WITH PAYROLL EXPERTISE – IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW PAYROLL SYSTEM AND ASSISTANCE WITH OTHER AD-HOC ACTIVITIES Downlands College is implementing a new payroll system which will streamline our processes from recruitment through to the generation of the payroll. The preferred candidate for this role should have experience with a major payroll system and have financial accounting credentials and/or extensive experience in a complex financial accounting arena. The initial focus of the position is to be immersed in the payroll implementation. There may be other ad-hoc activities/projects which the person could be called upon to undertake to assist the Business Manager. This is a six-month fixed term contract position. With respect to the Payroll Implementation, the engagement would involve: Gaining an understanding of our existing payroll system (TASS) and processes Gaining an understanding of the new payroll system to be implemented Acting as the interface between the software provider and the Finance Team in the implementation process Taking responsibility in organising user training Taking responsibility for the data migration to the new system Organising and taking responsibility for user acceptance and parallel processing Organising the “Go live” process. You will be supported by a friendly and supportive Business Manager, Payroll Officer, and Project Co-ordinator who will work with you to bring about success in the implementation.
