About The Role Our Fitters support our Underground Mining Operations by providing vital maintenance work on our underground mining equipment so that production can continue. This important role will be based in Narrabri, NSW. We currently have 4 positions available and these roles are offered on a residential or DIDO basis. Relocation assistance can be made available to candidates looking to move to the area. What You’ll Do Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance work on underground mining equipment. Maintain plant availability through inspections, fault finding, diagnosis and remediation actions. Report on defects and update maintenance and production logs. Complete planned and routine maintenance as per schedule. Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability. What You’ll Bring Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification. Minimum 12 months experience working in an underground mine. Experience working on mining or heavy earthmoving machinery. Must demonstrate a personal commitment to safety. Ability to work rotating shifts – day, night and afternoon. Why Whitehaven Coal? Fully Automated Longwall. Relocation Packages Available.
