Add expected salary to your profile for insights The Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) is a not-for-profit organisation, with more than 700 members and 150 staff across the Margaret River Region. Capes Foundation is a division of MRBTA operating a range of nature-based experiences including four caves, two lighthouses, a sanctuary for birds of prey, in addition to our high ropes course at Forest Adventures. Forest Adventures is located in the Ludlow Tuart Forest 10 kilometres north of Busselton. There are 77 activities spread over six courses with challenges of varying height and difficulty. The courses utilise a double lock and key system to enable safe independent movement for participants. Forest Adventures has a large school-based program which also includes archery and team building activities. About the Role The Forest Adventures Manager has responsibility for providing efficient and effective management as part of the tourism attractions business operated by MRBTA. In addition to leadership of a team of 15 staff, the site manager is responsible for ensuring the site operates safely according to operational policies and procedures. Skills and Experience Experience in operating and maintaining high ropes courses, zip lines, and climbing structures. Ability to inspect and maintain ropes, harnesses, carabiners, and other climbing gear. First Aid and rescue techniques (e.g., vertical rescue, rope access skills). Familiarity with risk management in adventure sports. Experience supervising a team of guides/instructors. Staff training in safety procedures and customer service. Excellent communication and decision-making under pressure. Ability to create and enforce safety policies. Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with participants of all ages and abilities. Ability to lead safety briefings and instruct participants effectively. Direct experience of working in the outdoor recreation industry would be an advantage, as would existing qualifications in: Perform Vertical Rescues (SISOVTR301A). Conduct a high ropes session (SISOCRP302A). Supervise a high ropes session (SISOCRP404A). Basic to advanced rigging qualifications. However, these qualifications can be gained once appointed. Remuneration The salary & benefits package for this role will consist of a salary component plus superannuation, and a fully funded vehicle (Hilux Dual Cab Ute) for work and personal use (nominal value $20k per annum). The salary component will be in the range of $60k to $75k per annum depending on previous experience and skills (plus superannuation). With the addition of a vehicle, the total package range is $80k to $95k (plus superannuation).
