Fixed Term: 31 March 2025 – 31 March 2026 (Leave Cover) – Up To 11.4 Hours Per Week About The Role Grampians Health Ballarat is seeking a General Physician (VMO) to join our team and contribute to our newly established hybrid (remote/on-site) Rapid Access Discharge Clinics. This role may also include participation in the post-take round or ward service rosters.You will work in a leading regional tertiary referral hospital that services a population of over 250,000 across the Grampians region. Our General Medicine Unit manages approximately 120 inpatients daily across seven units, supported by a comprehensive internal medicine service including gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology, rheumatology, and obstetric medicine.Key Responsibilities Provide clinical expertise in General Medicine, including ward service and outpatient clinics. Participate in medical assessment, planning, and discharge coordination for complex patients. Work within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care. Supervise and mentor Advanced Trainees, General Medicine Registrars, and Junior Medical Staff. Support quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with clinical standards. Skills & Experience AHPRA registration as a Specialist Physician or eligibility to apply. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent. Proven ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Strong clinical leadership skills and commitment to teaching and supervision.
