Government organisation seeking GIS Business Analyst in Ipswich! Your new company A leading and crucial government organisation that underpins the lives of thousands across the region is seeking a GIS Business Analyst in Ipswich to work on a spatial platform uplift program! GIS Business Analyst Initial 6 Month Contract Government Agency in Ipswich, QLD Your new role Your new role will see you work within the small but dedicated multi-disciplinary Technology Project Management Team led by the Program Delivery Manager whose aim is to work on the upgrade, enhancement, and rollout of key GIS related solutions throughout the organisation and the Ipswich region! Within this team, you will be part of several key strategic GIS projects to be rolled out over the course of several months and years to be used by thousands throughout Queensland. Covering both the technical and non-technical aspects of spatial mapping, the work you will be involved with will vary greatly. These projects can include (but are not limited to) platform reviews, process mapping, Fit For Purpose technology analysis, GIS migrations, and technical maturity assessments to name a few. Your role in this team will see you write use cases, capture processes, gather functional and non-functional requirements, create workflows, define technical specifications, identify critical touchpoints, and analyse key data amongst other duties. You will be conducting these tasks with other stakeholders across the organisation (who are to be positively impacted by these projects). This will include leading cross-departmental workshops, vendor liaison, and internal client engagements among others. What you'll need to succeed Experience working on GIS mapping applications/platforms Knowledge of the Esri product suite (e.g. ArcGIS) Experience implementing/enabling spatial systems (MapInfo, Geocortex, Esri, Hexagon, Oracle spatial) Understanding of spatial concepts, Cadastre, 3D, GDA2020, surveying, etc. Ability to gather and translate technical and non-technical requirements Experience working with individuals across all levels of an organisation Experience in the creation of use cases, workflows, and technical specifications among other documentation Risk assessment and impact analysis skills Clear and effective communication skills (both spoken and written) Full Australian working rights Currently residing in Australia (those outside will not be considered) What you'll get in return You will be offered an initial 6 month rolling contract position with flexible working arrangements with a leading government organisation in Ipswich.
