Coming together for the future of energy Reporting to CFO, leading a team of 200 employees. Permanent Position | Any Major QLD location. ICA Level 4 - Salary aligned with the successful candidate's skill, qualifications & experience. We are looking for a strategic leader to head our Procurement and Supply Group as our ‘General Manager - Procurement and Supply’ . Reporting into the CFO, this position is responsible for the strategic leadership of a team of 200 (9 direct reports), that oversees all procurement and supply activities with a procurement spend of more than $2b AUD annually. The role can be based in any of our key locations across Queensland where we have significant supply and procurement operations including Brisbane (Newstead), Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Cairns, or Townsville. The position is full-time, office-based, with the requirement for regular intrastate travel. The Opportunity: The ‘General Manager - Procurement and Supply ’ will provide strategic leadership and effective delivery of Procurement and Supply Services at an enterprise level across Energy Queensland. This includes inventory management, warehousing and logistics, supplier and contract management, and strategic sourcing. This position informs executive decision making in relation to Procurement and Supply considerations. The ideal applicant will be an established procurement / supply chain leader, with proven experience of reporting to C suite and board level. A background in logistics, working with large businesses and teams who are spread across diverse geographical locations will be valuable, as will technical knowledge or experience in the industry. This role will oversee business wide procurement, including software and technology, network operations and indirect spend. Understanding the dynamics and requirements of a large blue collar, operational workforce, as well as operating effectively as a leader in a corporate environment will be vital to your success. Key accountabilities will include: Deliver operational and commercial procurement solutions through effective leadership of dispersed teams. Lead a high-performing team to support an integrated works program and corporate needs. Develop strategies, systems, and policies for continuous improvement in procurement functions. Provide strategic advice to optimize business performance and manage procurement risk. Drive value-adding change and innovation, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Promote sustainable procurement, including social and environmental considerations. Collaborate with stakeholders to meet business needs and expectations. Responsibility for functional health and safety. Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Extensive management experience with leadership experience in building high-performing teams, managing change, and continuous improvement. Ability to manage relationships between key service providers and stakeholders in a complex business environment. Experience in extracting value, creating synergies, and standardizing processes. Advanced negotiation skills with employees, government, unions and suppliers. Experience in managing procurement and supply strategies within a large and complex organization. Ability to analyse complex situations and provide strategic advice for optimal performance. High-level skills in business planning, target setting, and work prioritization to meet objectives. Risk-based decision-making to ensure support services are effective and value-adding. Proven success in delivering customer-driven outcomes amid competing priorities. A relevant graduate qualification such as a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Economics, Business, Commerce or related field.
