Job Description

We are a gemstone wholesaler looking for a full-time sales person to join our team in a busy office located in Melbourne's CBD. A Diploma of Gemmology &/or experience in the jewellery/gemstone industry is essential for consideration for this role. Starting date Feb-March 2025. We are looking for a Sales Professional who is able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team, and has excellent communication and time management skills with excellent attention to detail. Our ideal candidate should be a qualified gemmologist. Day to Day Tasks Attend to inquiries and orders from trade customers via phone, counter, website, and email. Attend to inquiries and orders in a timely manner. Pick and process orders to customers' requirements. Pack and send orders via Australia Post and other postal/courier services. Counter service for walk-in customers. Maintaining a clean and tidy office space. Follow up approvals, orders, and sales inquiries. Handling of gemstones with appropriate care and attention. Weigh and count stock as it comes in and out of office from sales/approvals. Contribute to shared general office duties. Required Skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work as part of a team. Excellent customer service skills. Relationship management skills. Mature, professional attitude and demeanor. Knowledge and experience of coloured gemstones in the jewellery industry. Strong attention to detail. Pro-active, driven, enthusiastic, and reliable. Effective time management skills and an ability to prioritize tasks while working without supervision. Proficiency in the use of CRM programs as well as Microsoft Office suite. Education and Training Requirements A Diploma of Gemmology &/or experience in the jewellery/gemstone industry is essential for consideration for this role.
