You will be passionate about best-in-class digital ways of working and have a strong track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects, driving innovation, and leading high-performance teams, ensuring excellence in project delivery, budget management, and team leadership.Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will have significant executive exposure and interaction, and will be a member of the Executive sponsored Extended Leadership Team—the senior group of leaders responsible for leading the entire business. It’s therefore critical that you can apply a commercial lens to decision making, always ensuring critical decisions are being made in the best interest of the business.Key Responsibilities Leadership And Strategy Provide strategic direction for the digital and cloud technology portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and growth initiatives. Lead and inspire cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, business analysts, and project managers; fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Develop and execute long-term technology roadmaps for cloud solutions, digital products, and services, anticipating future technology trends and business needs. Project Delivery And Budget Management Oversee the delivery of high-quality, on-time digital and cloud technology projects, ensuring they meet scope, timelines, and budget requirements. Provide a comprehensive evaluation on buy vs build solutions to meet business and customer requirements. Drive cost-effective project execution while maintaining the highest levels of quality and performance. Establish and maintain clear project governance, defining processes and checkpoints to ensure successful project delivery, risk mitigation, and budget control. Report regularly on project status, financial performance, and resource allocation to senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability. Engineering And Development Excellence Champion a culture of engineering excellence, ensuring development processes are efficient, scalable, and sustainable. Promote best practices in cloud technologies, software engineering, and relevant development methodologies. Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, particularly AI, recommending and implementing innovative solutions that enhance business operations, user experience, and scalability. Establish robust performance metrics, driving continuous improvement in team performance, operational efficiency, and product quality. Team Development Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of engineers, developers, and technical leaders, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. Provide guidance on career development, technical skill enhancement, and leadership opportunities for team members. Ensure that the team is well-equipped with the latest tools and technologies to successfully execute digital and cloud projects. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Marketing, Product, Operations, broader IT) to understand business requirements and deliver tailored solutions. Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and technology providers, ensuring strong collaboration and alignment with strategic objectives. Skills & Experience To be successful in the role, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field combined with extensive experience from within a highly commercial environment. You will be an expert in Technical Leadership and Program Management, with a dedication to staying ahead of the latest digital trends, with a specific interest in emerging technologies, innovation, and industry best practices ensuring our digital solutions remain cutting-edge.You will have proven experience in digital transformation and cloud technologies with an outcome-driven, fast-paced environment. You will have a strong track record of leading large-scale digital projects and teams ensuring successful outcomes on time and within budget.You will have expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and a deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, DevOps, and software engineering best practices. You will have demonstrated experience with the software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and digital product development.Whilst technical proficiency is important to the role, you will also need to demonstrate exceptional leadership and digital innovation skills. You will possess the attitude, soft skills, and capability to engage with a broad range of business stakeholders. Your high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail will be crucial in meeting the business demands at G’day Group.
