This position offers a unique opportunity to apply creativity and strategic insight within a complex and dynamic environment.A vacancy has emerged for a strategic and operational leader to join this award-winning organisation as the 'General Manager, People and Culture' , within their People and Culture division.The Opportunity Supporting and reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and working in partnership with the health services leadership team, this role holds a national scope, leading both operational directives and strategic human resources initiatives for a large and diverse workforce.This position requires navigating the complexity and ambiguity of a budget-driven, unionised environment. The environment embodies our client's values and reflects its connection to the Catholic Church by delivering exceptional patient, resident, and client experiences through high-quality health services.Key responsibilities include: Collaborate with the CPO: Support the Chief People Officer in ensuring people practices and processes consistently yield high quality, mission-centric outcomes that address stakeholder needs. Drive the People Strategy: Assist the CPO in executing strategies to achieve the goals as outlined in the Strategic Plan. Be a team player: Work collaboratively within the People, Learning and Culture divisional leadership team. Focus on Workforce Excellence: Develop and execute strategies to attract, develop, and retain high-performing professionals. Provide Expert ER Guidance: Offer coaching and advice to key stakeholders on employee relations matters, including effective case management. Lead Agreement Negotiations: Actively engage in and advise during union and stakeholder negotiations to reach effective agreements. Deliver HR Projects: Oversee and drive HR projects aligned with organisational goals and priorities. Coach Managers: Build managerial expertise in contemporary HR practices through coaching and support. Champion Change Management: Contribute to change initiatives, fostering a collective approach and shared ownership of outcomes. Enhance Policies: Review and improve policies to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with best practices. Ensure Legislative Compliance: Implement and manage robust risk assessment and management frameworks. Build Stakeholder Relationships: Foster strong, collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional business acumen, with the ability to anticipate and adapt to market changes and disruptions. A pragmatic, results-oriented mindset, paired with sophisticated verbal and written communication skills. A demonstrated commitment to teamwork and values-based decision-making. Restructuring experience, which will be highly regarded.
