Partnering with growers, suppliers and loyal long-term customers in the On-Premise/ Off-Premise, Retail, Wine Club, E-Commerce and Direct to Consumer channels, it has been determined to now commence a strategic search and recruitment process to appoint a high-calibre General Manager - Sales & Marketing as the organisation embarks on the next phase of growth and evolution. About The Role Reporting to the Directors/ Founders Rob & Anne Gibson and the Advisory Board, the role will be a key member of the Gibson Wines leadership team, charged with leading and executing the growth strategy across Australia and internationally, establishing strong leadership in the management team, contacting key retailers, distributors, On/Off Premise, Export, Wine Club, E-Commerce partners and DTC channels, building brand awareness, leading strategic sales and growth initiatives, marketing capability and operational effectiveness whilst considering Industry risks and opportunities. With full P&L responsibility for all Revenue, Expenditure and Operational activities, the successful candidate will have responsibility for the daily management and leadership of the operations across the entire Gibson Wines product portfolio. Specific responsibilities of this critically important role will include: Achievement of Revenue, Case Volume & Gross Profit budgets Organisational leadership and performance management Cultivating a high-performing, accountable culture Further strengthening and building of long-term relationships About You - The Successful Candidate As the ideal candidate you will have extensive sales, marketing and operational management experience, coupled with the ability to identify and develop opportunities for growth, through the development of a high-performing and accountable culture. Comfortable operating in a matrix management reporting structure, dealing with ambiguity, and competing priorities, you will display natural motivation, drive, tact, poise, and strong EQ skills. Ideally, with a recognised degree-level qualification in Commerce or Food Science discipline, you will have demonstrated success in similar General Management, Sales/ Marketing/ Operations roles gained within the Australian Fine Wine sector, with an emphasis on premiumisation and the ability to leverage your extensive wine industry networks to influence growth outcomes for the Gibson Wines brand. Naturally, you'll need a strong analytical skill set, sharp commercial acumen, supported by excellent leadership development capabilities, communication, and negotiation skills. Coupled with a consultative/ curious mindset, you will be the conduit between Directors and Management, where your style inspires confidence, increases team capability and organisational competency. Patience, resilience and maturity, coupled with a task-orientated approach to managing multiple tasks, ambiguity and competing agendas is essential.
