Damm Fine Food Co. is one of Melbourne’s most creative and leading catering companies, managing two premium event spaces as well as offering private catering and event management services. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager of Sales (GMS) to lead our sales and marketing in the hospitality and events industry. The GMS will oversee sales, marketing, business development, and revenue management, to drive sustainable growth and profitability. This role requires a strategic visionary who can align GMS-functional teams, optimise pricing and distribution strategies, and cultivate strong relationships with key clients and partners. Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with company objectives. Identify revenue streams and sales opportunities of all business units. Oversee sales teams to ensure achievement of targets for venue sales, and event management services. Build strong relationships with corporate clients, event organisers, and partners. Marketing Oversight: Lead marketing to drive demand generation, brand awareness, and customer engagement. Align marketing campaigns with sales goals and objectives. Business Development: Identify and secure strategic partnerships, and corporate agreements. Expand into new markets and customer segments to increase market share. Revenue Management: Optimise pricing strategies and venue packages to maximise profitability. Collaborate on forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis for all revenue streams. Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in sales, marketing, and event management. Foster departmental collaboration to ensure alignment with company goals. Data and Analytics: Leverage data-driven insights to track performance, refine strategies, and inform decision-making. Monitor key metrics such as venue occupancy rates, and event profitability. Customer Experience: Ensure a seamless and exceptional customer experience at all touchpoints. Enhance customer loyalty and retention. Requirements: Proven experience (5+ years) in sales leadership roles within hospitality, events, or catering. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management or a related field (MBA preferred). Strong expertise in sales, marketing, and revenue management. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills. Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics and forecasting tools. Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
