This company is a leading Australian supplier with over 30 years experience in custom-made apparel. This Heritage company provides B2B garment and fabric supply chain solutions. Role Overview UMENCO is currently recruiting a Supply Chain Manager for a leading garment supplier, based in Melbourne. The Supply Chain Manager will spearhead and enhance the supplier relationships across key international regions. This role is pivotal to ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality garments on time and within budget. As part of the company’s growth strategy, the Supply Chain Manager will work closely with production, sales and international teams to optimise supplier performance, address challenges and align operations with strategic goals. The ideal talent will bring extensive experience in supplier management, especially within the garment sector, and have a solid understanding of the unique requirements of production. The Supply Chain Manager will manage relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment with the company’s objectives, including maintaining high standards for quality, delivery timelines and cost efficiency. Key responsibilities include setting and monitoring supplier performance metrics, addressing operational issues and collaborating with production and sales teams to forecast demand and ensure supplier capacity. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers, contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. The position will also drive process improvements, implement supplier management tools and collaborate with suppliers to enhance quality assurance and operational efficiency. The ideal talent will have extensive experience in supplier management within the garment or textile industry with a proven track record of managing international suppliers, while knowledge in CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) operations is also preferable. The talent will also have strong negotiation skills, an analytical mindset and the ability to think strategically to address both immediate and long-term challenges. A degree in supply chain management or business is required.
