Grade 6 Clinical Nurse - Mental Health Acute Care Team (ACT) Grade 6 Mental Health Acute Care Nurse (Locum) - Mackay Work within a 24/7 Acute Care Team, providing frontline mental health support.Rotating roster with morning and afternoon shifts, plus overtime opportunities.Expand your experience in crisis intervention and acute mental health care. About the Role Join a dynamic Acute Care Team that serves as the first point of contact for public mental health services. Operating 24/7, this team triages and facilitates referrals to community mental health services, alcohol and drug programs, or primary healthcare providers. You'll play a crucial role in mental health case management, crisis response, and acute care interventions . This is a locum agency contract , offering flexibility and excellent exposure to mental health services in Queensland. Key Responsibilities Conduct mental health triage and case management Deliver acute and crisis mental health care, including ECG assessments and IM injections Collaborate with internal and external health services to ensure continuity of care Maintain accurate records and documentation using CIMHA and ieMR (preferred) Skills & Requirements Essential: Mental health case management and triage experienceCrisis and acute care expertise in a mental health settingAbility to perform ECGs and administer intramuscular injectionsCurrent BLS & ALS certificationsCompetency in emergency triage, infection control, and aggressive behaviour management Desirable: Familiarity with CIMHA and ieMR systemsExperience within Queensland Health or Mackay HHSKnowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016 How to Apply If you have experience in acute mental health care and crisis response , we'd love to hear from you!
