About the Opportunity: We are building a brand-new state of the art glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala just south of Brisbane. The factory represents the large investment we have ever made where we will recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland’s glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plants which will create a beverage container precinct to further support our customers and create a range of new career pathways for our staff. The project is expected to be operational in 2026. This position is a 12-month fixed term contract based on site in Yatala. What you will do: We are seeking a Graduate Materials Engineer to join our team for the Glass Plant Project. You’ll oversee the Material Management System (MMS), ensuring accurate tracking and management of materials throughout the project lifecycle. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong interest in engineering and project coordination. In this role you will: Develop and maintain the Material Management System (MMS) database. Track material usage and ensure proper documentation and audits. Assist procurement teams in material sourcing and availability. Provide data analysis and reporting on material usage and inventory. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations. What you will bring to the team: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Strong interest or experience in material/database management. Proficiency in MMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong analytical skills. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Commitment to quality and compliance in material handling. Exposure working within large-scale construction projects (preferable). Knowledge of ISO standards, environmental regulations, and sustainability best practices (preferred). You will be required to meet Visy’s employment criteria which will include a criminal history check.
