G-Lab has an opportunity for a dynamic professional to join our team as a Specialist Materials Engineer at the new technical services facility located at Prestons. The main responsibilities are, but not limited to: Monitoring and reporting on quality targets and performance. Development, planning and implementation of research and development activities. Providing sound technical advice to all relevant stakeholders. Developing practical solutions, addressing product performance and resolving technical investigations within agreed time constraints. Conducting investigations and reporting on concrete and related site investigations. Take a leadership role in quality matters. Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, local specifications and NATA requirements. Manage Research and Development programs along with key stakeholders. Actively manage technical and quality issues. Regularly interact and communicate with all relevant stakeholders. To be considered for this role, you must have: A commitment to safety and quality. Relevant post graduate qualification in engineering or material science related field. Extensive experience and knowledge of concrete and related materials technology. In depth knowledge of regional specifications and standards related to concrete and materials. Experience in conducting detailed site investigations, problem-solving activities and generating high level reports covering these investigations. Experience with Infrastructure (TfNSW) specifications and test methods. Ability to problem solve and lateral thinking at a high level. Can communicate and interact clearly and effectively with stakeholders. Can operate independently to achieve targets, and self-driven. Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail. Have had a high level of experience in a similar role with exposure to concrete and construction materials. Have extensive experience in a NATA concrete and construction materials laboratory. Proficient in computer skills, and Microsoft Office suite of products.
