Green Waste Inspector

NuGrow are currently seeking a dedicated Green Waste Inspector to join the Rockhampton team. This is a permanent position working a rolling 4-day on/ 4-day off roster from 7am-5pm based at a Rockhampton Regional Council Facility. The green waste inspector responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitor all incoming green waste to ensure no contamination of the stockpile in accordance with all relevant legislation and company and council policies and procedures. Where appropriate sort, remove and segregate contamination such as plastic, wood/timber products and general waste. Operate all plant equipment, machinery and vehicles in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation and company policies and procedures. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and advise manager of any service and/or maintenance requirements. Ensure all activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management. Notify council staff of any unacceptable waste / hazardous materials and dangerous goods, which have been unloaded at the facility. Foster and build a positive and cohesive team with council employees. Provide advice to the public where appropriate regarding alternate waste delivery points. Regular mulch temperature testing. Actively participate in site toolbox talks. Perform miscellaneous position related duties and labour as required. To be successful in this role, you will have: Current Queensland drivers licence. Tele-handler ticket (highly regarded). Asbestos Awareness Training (highly regarded, however can be provided). Good presentation. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to follow procedures and job instructions with safety being a priority. Reliable, punctual and self-motivated. Have a great attitude and strong work ethic.
