Vestas Australia offers an exhilarating opportunity within the Power Plant Solutions team. The position of Grid Execution Manager is essential for engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the grid components in every project. The Grid Execution team will support the full value chain (Sales, Construction & Service) on grid connection and balance of plant aspects of all projects across the APAC region. Leading a team of professional engineers across the region working closely with other cross-functional teams to deliver competitive and compliant solutions. The role will encompass resource management and team development throughout the sales, construction and services phases, managing the grid connection and balance of plant scope across multiple projects. Responsibilities: Your main responsibilities as Grid Execution Manager, Power Plant Solutions APAC will be to take overall accountability and lead a team responsible for delivering compliant and timely grid connection solutions to our internal and external stakeholders. Resource Management of a cross-functional team of technical engineers supporting a portfolio of regional projects across the full project lifecycle. Project Optimisation of the portfolio, ensuring the diverse range of stakeholders' expectations are managed and business commitments are achieved. Process Improvement of technical, resourcing and tool processes to improve quality, efficiency and scalability. Team Development of your direct reports, taking a people-led approach to leadership to foster and attract industry leading talent. Contract Negotiations ensuring the contractual commitments on grid connection and electrical matters represent a balanced technically compliant solution at an appropriate risk level. Qualifications: Bachelors / Masters in Power Systems, Power Electronics or similar. Expert level knowledge of PSCAD or PSS/E or PF. Able to understand and interpret complex grid code requirements. Proven track record in power systems modelling and analysis. Product knowledge of STATCOM/synchronous condenser/SVC/HVDC system design and control/BESS system (with Grid forming technology) is an advantage. Experience of substation design and protection design is an advantage. Experience in renewable grid interconnection analysis for compliance assessment is an advantage. Competencies: Proven experience at leading cross-functional technical teams both local and remote (international). Extremely solid communication skills and ability to convey complex information in a simple and concise manner to a variety of technical and commercial stakeholders. Ability to maintain a motivated workforce in challenging and high-pressure tendering/execution environments. Results-oriented, with the ability to be innovative and creative in building technical value propositions and seeking out value optimisation opportunities. High level of customer focus, with a holistic understanding of how technical solutions impact a business case commercially and contractually. Professional presentation skills with ability to present to senior management. Proven experience to mentor and develop individuals on solution creation and contractual matters.
