About the Role As the Head of Grid Connections, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of grid connection projects, including customer onboarding, infrastructure planning, and technical execution. You will lead a team focused on managing new connections, improving the customer experience, and driving efficiencies in the connection process. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of energy distribution and help integrate new technologies and renewable energy sources into the grid. Leadership & Strategy: Lead and manage the grid connections team, providing direction and support to ensure effective execution of all customer connection projects. Develop and implement strategies to streamline connection processes and improve customer satisfaction. Grid Connection Planning & Design: Oversee the planning, design, and engineering of grid connections, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions. Work closely with internal teams and external contractors to deliver projects within scope, budget, and timeline. Customer Engagement: Ensure excellent communication and collaboration with customers, developers, and third-party contractors throughout the connection process. Provide clear guidance on technical requirements, timelines, and regulatory compliance. Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement of the grid connection processes, identifying bottlenecks, implementing new technologies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulations. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments, including operations, engineering, and regulatory teams, to ensure alignment and successful delivery of grid connection projects. Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as regulators, municipalities, and utilities. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all grid connections are compliant with safety, technical, and regulatory standards. Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with connection projects. Reporting & Performance Monitoring: Track and report on the progress and performance of connection projects, analyzing data to assess efficiencies and areas for improvement. Ensure all projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. About You Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems or similar Extensive experience in grid connections, utility operations, or related fields, with demonstrated experience in a leadership role Generator and power systems modeling experience (PSSE/PSCAD/PowerFactory experience essential) In-depth knowledge of grid connection processes, including design, engineering, and regulatory requirements Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally in energy or utilities Strong problem-solving, project management, and team leadership skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders Knowledge of renewable energy systems, smart grids, and modern energy technologies is a plus To apply, please submit your CV today or feel free to drop me an email at for a confidential chat!
