Grounds and Facilities Manager - Brisbane State High School Education (Organisation site)Metropolitan South Region, School and Regional Operations and Performance Division Brisbane State High School is seeking a full-time Grounds & Facilities Manager to oversee the facilities and grounds care maintenance of the school's playing fields at Fursden Road, Carina and the South Brisbane School Oval.The Grounds & Facilities Manager will report to the General Manager to provide operational support on a range of grounds management issues. This is a Permanent full-time position (38 hours per week plus ADO) to commence as soon as possible. About the Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ability to prepare fields in advance and transition between three GPS sports: Cricket, Rugby & Football. Knowledge of sports grounds management, preparation, and maintenance, especially for cricket, rugby & football. Ability to service and maintain grounds equipment and machinery. Knowledge of chemical management in relation to grounds care, including attainment of AHCCHM304 - Prepare and apply chemicals to control pests, weeds, and diseases; AHCCHM307 Transport & store chemicals. Perform activities consistent with workplace health and safety guidelines and procedures. Maintenance and preparation of tennis/netball courts and surrounding amenities. Liaise with contractors, P&C, Sub-Committee members & school staff. Suitability Assessment Criteria Knowledge, or the ability to acquire knowledge, of sporting field management. Ability to work autonomously and be self-driven. Demonstrated ability to understand the work environment of a school, along with an awareness of the need for security in relation to buildings, access, personal property, and equipment. Knowledge of and ability to apply workplace health and safety standards and knowledge of other legislation relevant to the undertakings of the role. Ability to develop positive working relationships with team members; actively listen to colleagues and establish good working relationships with departmental staff, outside providers, and contractors. Ability to use and maintain school facilities, including the school security system, portable hand tools, and computers with pre-established programs. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to undertake required procedures without intensive supervision. This position works outside of normal school terms, and holiday entitlements will be negotiated in line with operational requirements. Some after-hours and on-call work may be required.
