We’re searching for a Group Business Development Manager to join us! In this newly established role, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and brand positioning across our portfolio that currently includes Matteo Double Bay, Matteo Downtown, Tanuki and Osborn House. This highly hands-on role requires you to be a dynamic individual with expertise in lead generation, relationship building, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will excel at cold calling, identifying new opportunities, and fostering partnerships to elevate the group’s market presence. Key Responsibilities: Represent the group with comprehensive knowledge of each venue. Research market trends, consumer needs, and industry demands to identify how the venues meet those needs. Stay informed about trends in hospitality, travel, and MICE industries to identify growth opportunities. Create and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand the client base for all venues. Proactively seek new business opportunities through cold outreach, emails, and networking, ensuring a pipeline of qualified leads. Meet with potential clients to develop long-lasting relationships that ensure repeat business and referrals. Foster strong relationships with local and international tourism boards, event planners, travel agents, DMCs, and corporate clients. Attend trade shows, industry conferences, and other networking events to promote the company's offerings and establish new partnerships. Work closely with the marketing, revenue, and events teams to align brand positioning and sales strategies. Provide operational support to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives across the group. Ensure sales targets are met by holding regular check-ins, reviewing progress, and addressing challenges. Lead negotiations for group bookings and high-value accounts, managing contracts to ensure guest satisfaction. Prepare and present sales reports, performance forecasts, and action plans to senior leadership. Develop financial models and manage budgets and expenses for sales initiatives to support new projects. Assist with the development and implementation of operational standards and best practices across all venues. Required skills and qualifications: Proven experience (5+ years) in business development, preferably within the restaurant, hospitality, or retail sectors. Strong understanding of the restaurant industry, including market trends, consumer behaviour, and operational efficiencies. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions that drive business success. Proven record of success in lead generation, client relationship management, and revenue growth. Demonstrated success with the full sales cycle, from planning and prospecting to closing and retention. Strong knowledge of hospitality trends, MICE markets, and travel industry distribution channels. Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales analytics tools. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
