And that’s where you come in. Job Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Group Cost Controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Perth, Australia . Key responsibilities: Partner with the business to understand the drivers of efficiency for all non-project costs in the company. Consistently monitor progress against assigned targets, always striving to reduce costs without impacting effectiveness. Provide consistent reporting to business management, reporting results and identifying risks and opportunities. Drive process within the business, always focused on cost efficiency. Ensure coordination with, and manage the interdependencies within all groups of CFO function for financial closing activities. Own, manage and support the cost centres analysis for different scenarios (Actual, Budget, Forecast, Rolling). Support the budget and forecast process through the different levels of operations. Key knowledge and experience: Highly numerical, analytical whilst focused on owning the detail, maintaining an appreciation of the bigger picture. Experience owning cost centres in a matrix environment from a finance perspective and able to act as a trusted peer and partner to “Heads of departments” to manage budgeting and spend. Skills in process/project management. Knowledge of accounting methodologies. Knowledge in Project Cost Control. Knowledge of SAP (BW/SAP S4H/BPC). Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, DBMS (SQL), Access, Power BI, etc. Degree in Economics or similar. Proactive, professional, and resilient.
