About the role The Group Director of Operations Pacific is responsible for overseeing the operations of the group’s hotel portfolio in the Pacific, ensuring each property meets financial, service, and operational targets. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, maintaining brand standards, optimising guest experiences, and supporting General Managers in achieving strategic goals. The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality leader with a proven track record in multi-property hotel operations, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to drive performance across multiple brands, ownership structures, and market segments. Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence & Performance Management Oversee the day-to-day operations of all hotels within the group, ensuring alignment with company objectives and operational standards. Work closely with General Managers to optimise hotel performance, implementing best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across properties. Conduct regular property visits and operational audits to identify areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with brand, safety, and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across revenue, profitability, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Support hotels in delivering exceptional guest experiences by fostering a culture of service excellence. Drive revenue growth and profitability across the portfolio by ensuring effective cost controls, revenue management strategies, and expense management. Monitor and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, working with General Managers to implement corrective actions when required. Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, dynamic pricing, and market positioning strategies. Work with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting and financial accountability at all properties. Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to General Managers and their teams. Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance operational knowledge, leadership skills, and performance within hotel teams. Support General Managers in building strong, motivated teams with a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Oversee recruitment and succession planning for key operational roles within the group. Ensure workplace compliance with People & Culture policies, employment laws, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Brand & Guest Experience Management Ensure all hotels maintain brand integrity, upholding guest service standards and delivering consistent experiences. Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reviews, and feedback to implement service enhancements and operational improvements. Drive innovation and guest-centric initiatives to enhance brand reputation and guest loyalty. Stakeholder & Owner Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for hotel owners and key stakeholders, providing regular performance updates and strategic recommendations. Manage relationships with franchisors and brand partners, ensuring compliance with brand standards and operational guidelines. Collaborate with corporate teams (Finance, Commercial and People & Culture) to drive operational efficiencies and strategic initiatives. Strategic Planning & Growth Assist in the development and execution of long-term strategic plans to drive business growth and operational excellence. Support the expansion and integration of new properties into the portfolio, ensuring smooth transitions and operational stability. Identify market trends, competitor benchmarks, and emerging opportunities to enhance business performance. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Minimum 15+ years of hotel experience, with at least 5 years in a multi-property operations leadership role. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, or a related field. Strong experience in managing diverse hotel brands, including franchise, management, and white-label operations. Proven track record in driving financial performance, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiencies across multiple locations. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing high-performing teams. Proficiency in property management systems (PMS), revenue management tools, and data analytics platforms. Knowledge of revenue management, financial reporting, and cost control strategies. Experience working with hotel owners, investors, and brand partners. Familiarity with Australian hotel regulations and compliance standards. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel regularly between properties as required. Why Join Us?
