Group Manager – Coal Preparation Plants – Regional Division Glencore Coal Assets Australia Newcastle or Brisbane based Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be a key player in shaping and executing the processing strategy for Glencore’s Australian Coal assets. Your responsibilities will span across long- and short-term forecasting of processing performance, product quality management, maintenance, process improvements, and recovery, directly contributing to the overall success and financial growth of the business. Key Responsibilities: Lead a high-performing team of technical experts in fixed plant maintenance and process engineering to ensure alignment with the business plan and strategic goals. Oversee and guide the development and execution of small-to-large-scale projects, from concept through to pre-feasibility approval, ensuring they meet business objectives. Collaborate closely with site leadership and the senior leadership team to uphold the highest safety standards and improve the overall financial performance of the business. Take corporate responsibility for processing performance across all sites, ensuring continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, and product quality. Review and manage key risks, providing technical expertise and support to sites in addressing major issues while ensuring compliance with the Quality Management and Asset Management Framework. Foster knowledge sharing and set standards for operational excellence, overseeing group contracts and governing key business processes. Drive a culture of health, safety, environmental responsibility, and community engagement, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and operational standards. Key Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related technical field, with extensive experience in coal processing, including maintenance and process management. A deep understanding of both technical and commercial aspects of coal processing and mining operations. Proven leadership capabilities, with a strong track record of developing and leading high-performing teams. Demonstrated success in driving performance-based cultures and continuous improvement in a processing environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships both internally and externally. A commitment to safety, operational excellence, and creating value through efficiency and innovation.
