Destination Sport Experiences Group Travel & Event Manager Duration: 14 Months Maternity Cover This hybridrole is based in our Adelaide office, you must live within a commutable distance. Destination Sport Experiences, through its’ global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks cater for those who want to participate in the very best cycling and running events across the world. All three brands offer tours, travel packages, and guaranteed entry to marathons, cycling events around the world, together with VIP hospitality access to many of the top professional cycling events as well as managing travel programs for mass participation events on behalf of charities, companies and groups throughout the year. We are a proud partner of many of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and work closely with major sports events organisers across the globe. The team behind Destination Sport Experiences regularly participate in running and cyclingevents, as well as helping to manage events and support our clients on their journey through each event, so we understand the needs of those travelling with us. We are looking for an experienced Group Travel and Event Manager to help grow and manage our event portfolio. This role is heavily focussed on TCS Sydney Marathon, and the international travel partner program. As our Group Travel & Event Manager and will be responsible for Managing Strategic third party partnerships; bids, contracts, relationships, reporting. Managing Key Supplier relationships; strategic partnerships, operational & commercial (hotels, attractions, etc). Building & Managing Programs; multi-layered agreements, design & delivery, retail opportunities & packages. Product Procurement; providing brief of products required (ie hotel, cruise, venue). International Travel Partner (ITP) Relationship Management and communication. Marketing Oversight; campaign development & delivery for strategic partnerships. Lead Generation; identify large commercial opportunities. Attend strategic domestic events; host & deliver. Exceed client expectations through the delivery of high-standard programs by offering, professional and on-time/on-budget delivery. Manage inbound team, Operations Executive & Product Manager. Assist Product Manager to create and manage hotel relationships, help to negotiate contracts and lodging P&L process for tour packages & partner programs. Management of profit and loss for key events Regularly review existing contracts to ensure we are receiving the best rates in the market. Review processes for inventory setup and sales, and reporting. To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will: Have working experience within a similar role within the travel industry(sports travel experience would be highly desirable) Have a passion and knowledge of our core offering of endurance sports including marathons, triathlons and cycling events would be highly advantageous Previous team management experience would be highly desirable Demonstrate strong industry knowledge with a focus on hotel operations Have the ability to make strategic decisions Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to communicate to a variety of stakeholders both internal & external Be a self starter with the ability to manage own workload Possess previous experience with evaluating hotel contracts and negotiating mutually beneficial agreements Demonstrate a strong understanding of group and Individual travel booking processes Be passionate about providing top level customer servicewith a focus on exceeding client expectations Be detailed and highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure and tight time constraints Demonstrate a strong understanding of budgets, contracting process and procedures. Show knowledge of operations for hotels, venues, ground suppliers, and other elements that form a successful program Show logistical / geographical knowledge of destinations & access Be computer literate with strong IT skills: especially with Microsoft packages (Excel, Word,) Be willing to travel domestically & internationally per business needs So if you have a passion for sports, and are looking for your next challenge, take a look and get in touch we'd love to hear from you! #J-18808-Ljbffr
