The HR Branch is contained within the Division of University Operations and serves a client base of approx. 8,000 staff across all locations of the University. The HSW portfolio is responsible for the University’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Management Framework and coordinates the management of HR and HSW risks and engagement with internal / external audit processes. The HSW portfolio provides core services such as the management of the University’s self-insurance license; the formulation of safety and injury management policy and procedure; and the formulation of strategies that assist the University to build and maintain a culture of safety and a workplace that is compliant with the Return To Work SA Code of Conduct for Self-Insurance; and, frameworks and tools to support staff wellbeing. Working under broad direction, the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisory Manager is a key leadership role for the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team. The Health Safety & Wellbeing Advisory Manager will be responsible for a large team of Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisors and Officers to deliver timely and comprehensive Health, Safety & Wellbeing advice and support across the University. This role will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day operational HSW services to the Faculties and Divisions, and for building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders across the University. To be successful you will need: Demonstrated experience in leading the management of HSW systems across large and complex business units. Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising a team within a HSW environment. High level of ability to build and foster relationships with key stakeholders to drive key business outcomes. Extensive knowledge of work health and safety processes, management systems, relevant legislation, and hazard management practices. High level communication skills, including verbal and report writing skills. Demonstrated ability to promote the Organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behavior expectations.
