Based in the heart of Tech Central, Sydney, our Biosensing team are developing a highly sensitive biochip to enable advance medical diagnostics, including rapid potassium level blood testing. We are currently seeking a Hardware Engineer with experience in the bio/medtech industry to join our team developing a sensor system based on graphene-based field effect transistors (FET). The ideal candidate will have expertise in assay development for electronic sensors, an understanding of the market landscape and key problems in the industry, as well as experience using or developing graphene-based devices or semiconductor electronic sensors. This is a hands-on role, working in the lab with our talented team of biologists, chemists and electrical engineers on developing a sensor system based on graphene-based FETs. A component of the work will also involve interfacing with our industry and academic partners. The Role Design and develop hardware components for our biochip sensor system Collaborate with team members, across several disciplines, to optimise sensor performance Interface with customers from medical and biotech companies and collaborate with academic partners Work hands-on in a lab setting to conduct experiments and testing Prepare regular reports to present results and progress to the Archer team and management. What you’ll bring Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering or physical sciences Demonstrated experience in assay development for electronic sensors Knowledge of graphene-based devices or semiconductor electronic sensors Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team Strong communication skills for interfacing with customers and partners. Industry experience working in the bio/medtech field, interfacing with customers and collaborating with academic partners would be an added bonus! As would an expertise in using and/or developing graphene-based devices (device design or electrical operation, readout and control) or semiconductor electronic sensors. Why join the Archer team?
