About the Role: The HoD-C at Brightwater State School will work collaboratively with our leadership team on a daily basis. The Principal and Deputy Principals play an active role in designing the strategic curriculum agenda and implementation. Our teaching staff play an active role in collaborative planning, monitoring student progress, coaching cycles and learning walks & talks. The HoD-C will work closely with our HoD-Student Services and HOSES to support staff with planning and catering for the diverse needs of our students. This year we are progressing the implementation of synthetic phonics from our junior school into our Yr 3-6 sector, therefore knowledge and experience of this would be desirable. Coaching cycles using the Plan, Teach, Assess and Reflect cycle would also be desirable but not essential. You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks: Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. Be futures oriented and strategic. Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department. Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
