About the Role: As Head of Business Services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational efficiency and financial stability of the College. You will oversee key departments, including finance, facilities, food services, and more, while collaborating closely with the Executive Leadership Team and working in partnership with the College Council. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in bringing the College's vision to life, driving innovation and excellence across all operational areas. With exciting building projects and innovative initiatives in the pipeline, this role presents a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact in a values-driven educational environment. What You’ll Do: Leadership: Lead and support a diverse range of departments, driving operational excellence across finance, facilities, food services, and other key areas. Your leadership will empower the Business Services Management Team and ensure smooth, efficient operations. Building Projects: Play a central role in the development and management of exciting new building projects that align with the College’s vision for growth. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure these projects enhance the student and staff experience. Financial Management: Oversee the College's financial health, including budget management, financial analysis, and audits. Your strategic planning will be key to achieving the College's vision and ensuring long-term sustainability. Team & Communication: Cultivate a culture of open communication and collaboration, liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Represent the College at key events and ensure seamless information flow across the organisation. Collaboration with College Council: Work closely with the College Council to ensure the strategic direction of business services aligns with the College’s long-term goals and vision. Provide regular updates on key projects, financial matters, and overall operational performance. Administration & Policy Development: Manage key administrative tasks with precision, from financial reporting to policy creation. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contribute to the development of policies that support the College’s goals. What You Bring: Financial Expertise: Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning, and reporting. Leadership Acumen: Previous leadership experience in educational or similar environments is highly desirable. Strategic Thinking: The ability to implement long-term plans that align with our College's mission and objectives. Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations. Technological Proficiency: Experience with financial management software and ERP systems is advantageous. Personal Qualities: Effective Communicator: Able to convey complex financial information in a clear and accessible manner. Problem Solver: Skilled in identifying challenges and implementing solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Passion for Education: A commitment to positively impacting students' learning experiences and outcomes. Integrity: A high level of trustworthiness, loyalty, and confidentiality. Qualifications: B achelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. MBA is desirable. Why St Andrew's?
