As an important member of our leadership team, you will work closely with a diverse range of students to support their successful engagement with school and its academic and enrichment programs. Indooroopilly offers Spanish and Chinese - Mandarin in both mainstream and accelerated programs and maintains Council of International Schools accreditation. The Head of Department position will play a leading role in supporting students so that every young person has the opportunity to achieve their personal best. Responsibilities Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students. Collaborate with other staff within and external to the school to provide advice and support about the teaching of Language students, ensuring they have access to all elements of the curriculum. Embed socially just practices in daily school life. Set high standards for student and staff performance. Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups. Be futures oriented and strategic. Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling, especially in relation to students and staff within the school department. Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
