We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Head of Department to lead a team of professionals to new heights. Welcome to our community.About The Role Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Oversee the welfare of all students in their year level, including personal, social, and academic development and monitoring of attendance. Interact professionally with students, parents, and staff. Oversee attendance monitoring for trends in unexplained absences, communicating this with parents. Manage Stage 3 behaviour referrals in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Utilise a range of monitoring and follow-up strategies with students to improve engagement and wellbeing. Liaise with classroom teachers around behaviour and engagement strategies, particularly in building teacher capability and confidence to support and engage learners. Communicate with staff on behaviour management issues and assist in holistic behaviour management. Monitor uniform standards in accordance with school policy and procedures. Keep appropriate records in One School regarding student and parent contact. Use a key understanding of the importance of confidentiality of student information and sensitivity at all times. Foster positive relationships between students, staff, and parents/guardians. Meet weekly to identify students of concern and assist in case management and instructional leadership. Facilitate communication within the school community and engage community speakers/presenters for assemblies as required. Utilise and reinforce the use of the Student Learning Journal with students at weekly assembly for Academic Tracking and auditing. Celebrate success each term with your cohort and promote wellbeing, engagement, and inclusivity. Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
