About the Role As a Head of Department (Wellbeing) at Varsity College, you will play a crucial role in promoting the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of students and staff. This role will focus on driving a whole-College approach to wellbeing and engagement for staff and students from P-12. You will provide high-level strategic advice to the Executive Principal and Leadership team regarding staff and student wellbeing data, in accordance with legislative and departmental frameworks, and best practice initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Program Development: Design and implement P - 12 staff and student wellbeing programs and initiatives aligned with the College's strategic plan and wellbeing framework. Collaboration: Lead and work with students, staff, parents, and external agencies (EQ/ Region/ various stakeholders) to create a supportive environment and ensure a coordinated approach to wellbeing. Resourcing: Resource opportunities for staff and students on mental health awareness and wellbeing strategies, and provide resources for staff, students, and families. Monitoring and Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives and make adjustments based on feedback and outcomes (through a variety of data sources including QEW, SOS, SDA, SWNA, student learning and wellbeing framework feedback, Student forum, staff wellbeing teams). Advocacy and Promotion: Promote a positive school culture that prioritises mental health, inclusivity, and support for all students and staff, which is essential for their overall wellbeing through Respectful Relationships and other best practice initiatives. How to Apply Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); and provide a 2-page written response to the following: Demonstrated experience in the provision of strategic advice, development, and implementation of wellbeing and engagement programs and initiatives within a large complex school environment, evidencing measurable outcomes. Demonstrated ability to align wellbeing strategies to an organisational strategic plan and continuous improvement agenda, outlining an understanding of how wellbeing impacts academic performance, engagement, and school culture. Experience in gathering and analysing wellbeing data, showing a systematic approach to evaluating trends and informing strategies. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community, including students and families from diverse backgrounds and community agencies.
