Head of EAL (English as an Additional Language) Closing Date: March 4, 2025 Interview Date: March 10, 2025 Full time or part time (minimum 0.7FTE), required from September 2025 Ipswich School, one of East Anglia’s foremost independent schools, is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled teacher to lead our English as an Additional Language (EAL) department. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop a thriving department as we expand our overseas boarding numbers. We are looking for a dynamic leader to inspire and support a team of motivated EAL students and staff, ensuring that our international students are fully integrated into the academic and social life of the school. This is a superb opportunity to lead and shape a thriving and highly successful department with able, motivated pupils. Key Responsibilities : Lead and manage the EAL department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. Support the academic and personal development of overseas students. Collaborate with other departments to integrate EAL students into mainstream lessons. Be an advocate for the department and contribute to its ongoing development. What we are looking for : A qualified teacher with expertise in EAL, and experience in leadership. Passion for developing students’ language skills and cultural integration. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for all students.
