Add expected salary to your profile for insights As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovations that directly benefit the Australian grain industry. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of HR to lead people strategy, talent management, employee engagement and cultural development in alignment with the organisation’s vision to create enduring profitability for Australian grain growers. Responsibilities The Head of HR leads the People and Place team based in Canberra. Specifically this role: Shapes strategic HR practices that drive performance in alignment with GRDC’s purpose. Maintains currency of best practice people management to anticipate and respond to changing workforce conditions proactively. Leads the attraction, recruitment, and retention of top talent. This involves developing effective recruitment strategies and fostering a strong employer brand. Oversees the design and implementation of strategic training and development programs that enhance employees' skills and knowledge and position the organisation to achieve its objectives. Curates the employee experience by championing initiatives to enhance employee engagement, promoting diversity and inclusion, and driving performance within a positive work environment. Maintains a compliant and fit for purpose policy framework that supports an inclusive, safe and positive workplace. Oversees employee relations, performance appraisals, and succession planning to ensure that the organisation has the right people in place to achieve its goals. Candidate Profile Education: Degree in HR, Business, Management or equivalent. Australian Human Resources Institute Certification (CPHR) Seasoned HR professional with at least 8 years’ experience in Human Resources or people-related role(s). Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the Fair Work Act and related employment law. Demonstrated high level of expertise in effectively communicating and influencing senior key stakeholders and staff. Demonstrated presentation, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence, motivate and develop others. Demonstrated ability to write high level briefs and board papers. Proven experience in the development and implementation of Human Resource strategy. Mandatory Requirements Must be prepared to travel as and when required. Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks. Must have a valid Australian Driver’s Licence as deemed necessary. Please include a CV and cover letter in your application.
