Role Description: The Head of Health, Safety & Environment is an exciting opportunity in our People, Safety and Environment business unit based at our Perth CBD office. Your position is part of senior leadership in PSE and plays an integral role in the strategic planning of this business unit. You are a member of Synergy's senior leadership team (SLT) executing the corporate strategy, leading people, and role modelling culture. You are accountable for leading, managing and continuously improving health, safety and environmental systems, processes, and practices to ensure Synergy provides both physical and psychosocial safety in the workplace while protecting and eliminating harm to the environment. You will champion sustainability and social value issues and promote Synergy’s health, safety, and environment (HSE) strategies to the board, executive, key customers, and external forums. Job Responsibilities: Ensure the health, safety and environment is at the forefront of decision making; conducting business in a manner that protects employees, the environment, stakeholders, customers, and communities. Ensure a strategically aligned organisational focus on environmental compliance and licence conditions. Manage and continuously improve corporate health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) management systems to support strong employee and contractor safety practices, behaviours, and outcomes. Ensure the HSE systems and associated data/trend analysis translate to effective reporting and risk mitigation strategies, including reporting to the HRSC and board. Facilitate a strong and proactive HSE culture across the organisation. What You Will Bring: Tertiary qualifications in related Health, Safety and Environment field. Knowledge of implementation and application of health, safety & environmental management systems and management of issues associated with electricity generation. Deep experience (10 years minimum) in health, safety & environmental management of heavy industry business, preferably power station assets or mining industry. Strong track record of environmental stewardship, compliance, and practice development. Comparable experience in health, safety & environmental assessment, environmental reviews, environmental management and licensing/permitting.
