Division: Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education Region Salary: Level 3, $137,428 - $150,385 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023) This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2025 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency. Cecil Andrews College is seeking a highly dedicated and enthusiastic individual to lead their Arts Team. This position will require leadership of the Arts Learning Area including Instrumental Music School Services (IMMS) and Specialist program. The Head of Learning Area - Arts will ideally also engage in a teaching component that could be within Arts or other learning areas, playing to the strengths of the suitable candidate and the business needs of our school. This role requires the capacity to build and maintain an effective team; strong communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable. This position requires a dynamic leader who can motivate and develop staff, lead the development of engaging curriculum, and contribute to the school's strategic and operational plans. Your exemplary leadership and extensive professional knowledge will be utilized to employ evidence-based teaching practices whilst utilizing a range of assessment and reporting methods. The suitable candidate will ideally develop sustainable processes and practices within a dynamic and collaborative team. In your capacity as a curriculum leader, you will ideally play a crucial role in providing professional guidance to the Arts teachers, ensuring that they stay informed on relevant curriculum issues within your designated area. You will be instrumental in facilitating teaching and learning outcomes, employing effective performance management strategies, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement among the school's academic community. A key aspect of your role may involve implementing change management strategies to lead the school community in accepting and developing opportunities for improved service within your specified subject area. Your contributions will ideally extend to the collaborative development of the school plan, involving participative decision-making, policy development, and the establishment of necessary systems.
