Division: Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education Region Salary: Level 3, $132,143 - $144,601 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023) This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2025 Thornlie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint an innovative, motivated, and flexible Head of Learning Area - Mathematics to join their Leadership Team. The Role The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, highly proficient school leader adept at engaging staff, parents, and students, whilst supporting the school’s priorities within the Thornlie SHS Business Plan. The Head of Learning Area – Mathematics will lead and support staff to plan, deliver, monitor, assess and evaluate differentiated teaching and learning programs to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment within the Science Department. The successful applicant will ideally possess extensive successful experience in supporting and building the capacity of their staff through coaching and mentoring processes. They will, ideally, display high level skills and knowledge of curriculum, coaching, professional learning delivery and school operations. The successful applicant will have outstanding communication and organisational skills, resilience, and the proven ability to lead staff to effectively implement the Western Australian curriculum, guiding teachers and students to achieve excellence in well-established ATAR and General Courses. It would be advantageous for the successful applicant to have expertise and a proven record of successfully resourcing and promoting Numeracy across the whole-school context.
