Brand new role - Opportunity to make it your own. Reporting directly to the c-suite, the Head of Lending/Credit leads the credit risk management for long-term lending, ensuring alignment with the Group’s risk appetite and business objectives. This role focuses on credit risk assessment, strategic guidance, compliance, and people leadership. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement the credit risk strategy to align with business goals and risk appetite. Create and maintain credit risk policies and procedures in line with regulatory and industry standards. Adapt the strategy in response to market and internal changes. Conduct hands-on deal assessments and sign off on Credit Papers for the Credit Committee. Present large deals (exceeding DLA) to the Credit Committee for approval. Attend Credit Committee meetings and provide regular reports on credit risk exposures and portfolio performance. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the executive team and board. Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements related to credit risk. Address regulatory concerns and ensure adherence to ethical standards and company policies. Lead and mentor a high-performing credit risk team, fostering collaboration and results. Build talent pipelines, succession plans, and continuous development opportunities for the team. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Work closely with other business units to align credit risk practices with corporate objectives. Support product teams in designing balanced credit products. Liaise with external stakeholders including regulators, industry bodies, and rating agencies. Key Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. 10+ years in property credit risk management within banking, lending, or financial services. Expertise in credit risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and stress testing. Proven experience in property sector credit assessment.
