About the Opportunity This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. The Head of Risk Management - SSN AUKUS will provide strategic leadership for ASC’s SSN AUKUS Risk team. Working collaboratively with our Shipbuilder partner this role is pivotal in identifying and implementing strategies that position the SSN AUKUS Build program for growth and stability, aligned to the program objectives. You will be responsible for effective frameworks in Risk Management, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Compliance, driving a performance-based culture to deliver high-quality risk management services. Responsibilities Design, implement, and continuously improve risk management, continuity, and compliance frameworks to support ASC's corporate strategy and operations. Lead the development and management of Business Continuity Crisis Management procedures for both ASC and the Shipbuilder. • Work collaboratively with senior management, both at ASC and the Shipbuilder to shape, develop and manage risk strategies. Strengthen internal and external stakeholder relationships through a business partnering model. Provide specialist, authoritative advice on complex risk matters and serve as the primary contact for senior business stakeholders. Set clear performance and behavioural expectations for employees, ensuring alignment with team and organizational goals. Manage individual and team goals, providing regular and constructive feedback on performance. Ensure compliance with WHS policies, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Diversity Policy. Oversee the Shipbuilder's risk management framework in accordance with ISO 31000. Regularly update on business risk outcomes and foster continuous improvement in processes and work methods. About You Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business Administration, or Engineering. Additional Risk Management certifications and a minimum of ten years of Enterprise Risk Management experience. Experience within the Defence Industry and the ability to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance (Level NV1). Extensive experience in Risk Management, Compliance, and Business Continuity. Proven experience in external regulatory reporting requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills adaptable to various audiences. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships. Demonstrated experience in leading a multi-disciplined skilled team. Exceptional time management skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. High level of integrity and respect, strategic business planning, confident decision-making, and innovative use of initiative. Coaching and mentoring skills, flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to remain well-organized and effective under pressure. Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
