Join us as we contribute to this significant mission in the energy sector. About the role It is an exciting, momentous time to be part of this energy transition to a renewable energy system. The transition to net-zero requires AEMO to play a large role in unlocking the future potential of the electricity network through large capital projects. The largest of the two being the Western Renewables Link and the Victoria to NSW Interconnector. While AEMO has a legislative duty to ensure the safety of these projects, more importantly, it has a moral obligation to keep its people, its contractors, and the public safe at all times. The HSE Officer’s role is to provide assurance that the systems and processes are being implemented in a way that is both legislatively compliant and reflective of our own safety values. What you will be doing Support, validate, and verify that in-field work activities are planned and delivered in accordance with the safety system. Administer project, cross-project, and multi-discipline safety sub-committees. Monitor and maintain WHS and incident registers. Provision of safety training and induction programs. Handling administration and record management to provide certainty and confidence in our capability to conduct internal safety system audits. Coordinate, support, or lead safety activities during in-field deployment. Undertake in-field audits. What you will bring to the role Hold relevant safety-related qualifications, certifications, and licenses, or project management qualifications in infrastructure delivery. In-depth knowledge of Victorian OHS codes of practices, ISO 45001, and safety audit practices. Demonstrated safety experience in infrastructure projects as either the client or the principal contractor. Proven experience in effective safety behaviour change, implementing safety processes, and influencing safer outcomes.
