In this role, you'll: Join our Coordinator General division within the Bus Transformation Branch to provide strategic advice on the implementation of safety-related recommendations by the NSW Bus Industry Taskforce. Your role will be responsible for advising on Health and Safety management issues relating to bus operations across the state of NSW. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this critical role requires an experienced Health and Safety professional to partner with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate health and safety initiatives per the Work Health and Safety Act, Work Health and Safety Regulation, Heavy Vehicle National Law, relevant Work Health and Safety Legislation and Codes of Practice. This role will see you provide expert guidance in health and safety, specifically within the bus operations environment and act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring health and safety standards are rigorously applied. You will leverage your knowledge and experience of providing effective risk management processes, implementing all safety policies, protocols and procedures and keeping correct and up-to-date administrative records within a complex high-risk operational environment. This is a fixed term full time position until September 2026 in a hybrid working model with flexibility to work in our Elizabeth Street office in Sydney CBD as well as spending time in Sydney or regional areas as appropriate. About you You will collaborate closely with bus operators, unions and internal teams and conduct health and safety assurance activities on sites, identifying risks and implementing practical, proactive measures to eliminate and or mitigate them. You will be committed to driving continuous improvement in health and safety practices, fostering a culture of safety excellence within the program. To be successful in this opportunity, we are looking for: Proven experience and deep knowledge in health and safety management, particularly in operational environments. Experience with bus operations or heavy vehicle national law. Demonstrated ability to deliver on strategic project objectives. Experience in managing health and safety assurance processes on large-scale projects or programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Relevant tertiary qualifications in health and safety, or extensive relevant industry experience and a Professional membership of a relevant safety body.
