Health, Safety & Wellbeing Partner - VIC (12-month Fixed Term contract) Want to be part of a truly values-based organization making a difference to people’s lives? We are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Wellness Partner based in our Moorabbin office in Victoria. This position is a 12-month contract. Role Overview: The Health, Safety and Wellness Partner plays a crucial role in promoting a culture of health and safety within the organisation. This position is responsible for various aspects of health and safety management, including policy development, incident investigation, safety audits, and compliance with regulations. The role also involves providing advice, support, and training to employees, contributing to the overall wellbeing and safety of the workforce. Key Responsibilities: Safety and Systems Support the implementation of Possability’s Work, Health and Safety Management Systems. Contribute to the development and implementation of the annual WHS action planning and monitoring processes. Develop relevant safety policies, procedures, and guidance material. Promote hazard identification and incident reporting to build a strong safety culture. Develop and implement audit and compliance tools to monitor organisational compliance with WHS obligations. Participate in and lead organisational audits of safety systems and practices. Provide analysis on WHS compliance data against legislative and regulatory obligations. Lead the development and the introduction of Health and Safety Committees across the organisation. Provide support and guidance to Health and Safety Representatives and consult with them as required. Evaluate, research, and make recommendations on WHS improvements to enhance performance and safety outcomes. Participate in continuous improvement activities and represent Possability in network groups and regulator meetings as needed. Safety Monitoring, Reporting & Investigation Oversee the reporting and investigation of incidents, ensuring effective mitigation and prevention actions. Monitor and analyse WHS data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Regularly assess the Possability workplaces for hazards and implement control measures. Develop high-quality reports, presentations, and training materials related to health and safety. Support corrective action processes, including addressing matters of non-conformance. Consultation Engage with leaders and employees to assess and proactively address WHS and Wellbeing matters. Conduct wide consultations about safety practice changes that may impact employees and clients. Establish sound working relationships with Health and Safety Representatives and employees through appropriate forums. Advice, Support & Training Provide timely advice and consultancy to managers and employees to enhance safety knowledge and capability. Promote a positive safety culture and workplace reporting. Deliver training on WHS legislation, organisational policies, and procedures. Provide training and support on reporting systems to all employees. Offer hands-on support to health and safety representatives in implementing WHS systems at the local level. Develop and implement WHS Training and Induction programs for employees and contractors, monitoring compliance. Health, Safety & Wellbeing and Conduct Behave in a manner that upholds and positively models the organisation’s Code of Conduct. Comply with all relevant organisation’s WHS policies and procedures. Take reasonable care to maintain your own health and safety and that of others. Actively participate in making the organisation a safe and healthy workplace through communication and consultation processes. Skills/Qualifications/Experience: Relevant tertiary qualification in Health and Safety (WHS) or extensive relevant experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role. Knowledge and understanding of all applicable health and safety legislation in all states and territories. Industry knowledge of NDIS, Aged Care, Out of Home care, or Community Services experience is desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of incident investigation analysis and evaluation processes. Regular availability for inter and intra state travel. Probity Requirements: A Working with Children and NDIS Screening Check (must be maintained). A current national Police Check (must be maintained). A current unrestricted driver’s licence (must be maintained). Why Apply?
