House Supervisor / Client Services Coordinator - Child Protection & Disability Ability Assist Northern and Western Suburbs Full Time Position Ability Assist is an experienced, accredited NDIS service provider for individuals with a disability in Melbourne and surrounding areas. We also provide residential care and services for children and youth at risk. We have a strong reputation for our ability to work with children with complex needs, including high risk behaviours and behaviours of concern. About the role: The Client Services Coordinator will work both in the office, and providing support as House Supervisor to our respite placements. This is a management role, although from time to time you will be required to work directly with the clients. This role is critical to ensuring high quality service delivery. About You: You will be passionate about leading a team to make a real difference in a young person's life. A leader who strives to help others and who has experience working with a variety of different complex and challenging behaviours, including clients with autism and intellectual disabilities. Qualifications at or above Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or equivalent. Skills and experience required to be successful in this role: Demonstrated skill in supporting people with major behaviours of concern within a positive and therapeutic framework. Ability to support the client in achieving his/her personal goals. Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours and mentor your team in doing the same. Demonstrated ability to work with people to overcome complex situations and problems. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Child Protection, Residential Youth Work and NDIS. High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Strong staff-management skills, including conflict resolution and performance management. Demonstrated commitment to quality client services and continuous improvement strategies. Strong communication skills - including verbal and written. Flexibility across a fortnightly roster; note the position is mainly Monday – Friday but some afternoon shifts/weekends may be required from time to time. Compliance with minimum qualification requirements for Residential Care Workers in Victoria, including completion of Child Protection top-up units. Satisfactory Criminal History Check. Valid Working with Children Check. Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check. Current First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain. Willingness and ability to complete in-house training as required.
